The iconic Ultimatch football is Mitre’s base level match ball; however it is also the best selling Mitre match football. UPDATED: This ball is now FIFA Basic approved which is a good move on Mitre’s part. The last Ultimatch model dropped the IMS badge but I believe it cost the company a lot of sales so reverting is good news. In 2024 Mitre launched new graphics and new panel designs for the whole football range. The 2021 Ultimatch took on a new name and is now known as the Mitre Ultimatch One. The 2021 model doesn’t have the word ‘ONE’ printed on the ball. At the time I stated that this was odd to rebrand and not use the full name on the ball. The 2024 ball now has the word ONE printed on which is an obvious move.
The new style ball 2024 model is constructed with a textured outer layer to aid control and has a soft touch 4.5mm hyperfoam backing, which is claimed improves power. The durability of this match ball is further improved with the claim of being 60% more durable than previous models
What Colours Are The Mitre Ultimatch Available In?
The impressive graphics make the Mitre Ultimatch One far more visually appealing to the eye, than previous versions. I personally love the new colourways and graphics. In my opinion the Ultimatch One graphics are crisper and cleaner than other balls in the range. This ball remains a great choice as a high quality match ball. It’s status as the UK’s favourite match football will stay intact as it is available in sizes 3, 4 and 5. It is also available in a choice of 2 colours

- Yellow/Black
The fluo/yellow colourway ball is designed for use in winter as the hi-viz colours help players see the ball in poor light conditions. Most brands now have the match balls with a winter variation, which mirrors the major football leagues requirements.
What Is Hyperseam Technology?
Hyperseam technology refers to the ball being almost entirely water resistant. The seams are thermal bonded which then repels 99% of water. Why is this useful? It does mean the ball remains in a stable condition when used in the rain or in drier conditions, making the ball consistent everytime. The balls are sent out deflated or partially inflated so will need inflating before use. The 2024 Ultimatch One has a far superior embossed outer skin too, giving greater control. The Mitre Ultimatch One is the model below the Mitre Ultimatch Evo. If you are looking for a good quality match football, the Ultimatch One football is a great choice. As mentioned previously from 2025 the Mitre Ultimatch One is now FIFA Basic approved along with the Ultimatch EVO. Some leagues insist on clubs using a FIFA Basic approved football so, the Ultimatch is no longer be an option. If the cost of the Mitre FIFA Basic approved Ultimatch footballs are too high then you might want to consider the Precision Fusion football.
